Overview Join us on a remarkable Guided Expedition through three iconic cities in Mexico and Central America which have all been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Our first stop is Panama City, where we stay at the historic Hotel Central, the very first hotel in Panama, located in the charming Casco Viejo, in the “old” capital of Panama. We will cruise along the Panama Canal on our private chartered boat to see the ships transiting the canal and then we are off on a jungle trek. Later, we will tour the Miraflores lock and see the ships being raised and lowered from the Pacific Ocean to the level of the canal. Next, we’re off to La Antigua, Guatemala, founded almost 500 years ago and known for its stunning architecture and rich culture. At one time the capital of Guatemala, the city is nestled in the lush mountains. Finally, we'll visit Puebla, Mexico, home to CST Flight Services. Puebla is known for its colonial architecture, plethora of beautiful churches, museums, and archaeological sites. Sample Puebla’s iconic cuisine and visit the Talavera factories where the beautiful pottery is made by hand. See where the battle of “5 de mayo” was fought. Day 1: Saturday | Tapachula, Mexico |
We will depart from Brownsville, TX (KBRO) and fly south to Veracruz, Mexico (MMVR) for our entry into Mexico and a fuel stop. Once we have completed the formalities in Veracruz, our next destination will be Tapachula, Mexico (MMTP), where we will be staying overnight. | Meals Included:

Day 2: Sunday | Panama City, Panama |
Our journey continues as we depart Tapachula and proceed to Liberia, Costa Rica (MRLB), to refuel and pick up boxed lunches. Once completed, we will proceed to our destination, Marcos A. Gelabert Airport (MPMG) in Panama City. After completing the arrival procedures and securing the aircraft, we will transfer to the Central Hotel, the first hotel of Panama in the heart of Panama City's historic Casco Viejo. After checking in, we will gather for a delightful dinner at the hotel.

Day 3: Monday | Panama City, Panama |
Our guided tour will start after breakfast where we proceed by private bus to the Panama Canal and the nearby jungle. Our private, chartered boat will take us across Gatun Lake in the Panama Canal, to watch the monumental cargo ships passing by. We will continue our boat cruise around rainforest-covered islands, where we can observe the local wildlife. We'll also visit attractions like the Commission Building, Goethals monument, Albrook US Air Force Station, and Fort Clayton former US army base at the Panama Canal. We'll wrap up the tour with a visit to the Miraflores Locks and Exhibition Center to watch the ships being raised and lowered from the canal to sea level. After lunch, we'll head back to Casco Viejo. | Meals Included:

Day 4: Tuesday | Panama City, Panama |
Day at leisure! During this day, you will have the opportunity to explore Panama at your own pace. Wander through the charming streets of Casco Viejo and visit its monuments, museums, and shops. If you're interested, additional tours can be organized upon request. Consider taking a day trip to El Valle de Anton, a lovely town set within a dormant volcanic crater. You can also visit the fascinating Biodiversity Museum designed by Frank Gehry. Discover the delicious local cuisine and delve deeper into the city's culture. Alternatively, you can explore Portobelo, an ancient Spanish fortress and Caribbean port, or learn about the traditions of the indigenous Embera village. In the evening, we'll gather for a pre-flight briefing and enjoy a lovely dinner together. | Meals Included:

Day 5: Wednesday | Antigua, Guatemala |
Once we finish breakfast, we will leave Panama and fly to Liberia, Costa Rica (MRLB) to refuel and pick up another boxed lunch before continuing our journey to Guatemala City's La Aurora International Airport (MGGT). After completing the arrival formalities, we will begin our journey up the mountains to the Hotel Camino Real in the charming city of La Antigua. This city was declared a World Heritage Site in 1979 by UNESCO due to its stunning colonial architecture and strong Mayan influence. After checking in at the hotel, we will gather for dinner at the hotel restaurant. | Meals Included:

Day 6: Thursday | Antigua, Guatemala |
The group walking tour for today will start right after breakfast from the hotel lobby. We'll have a guided walking tour of La Antigua, where we'll learn about its history and explore the fascinating attractions that make this place one of a kind. You'll have free time in the afternoon to relax or further explore the city at your own leisure. Lunch and dinner will be on your own. | Meals Included:

Day 7: Friday | Antigua, Guatemala |
You have the day at leisure! Explore La Antigua and it's beautiful surroundings at your own pace. For those inclined, there are optional tours available to visit nearby attractions such as volcanoes, lakes, and Mayan archaeological sites. Alternatively, you may choose to visit local museums, the market, historic landmarks in La Antigua, or the Chocolate Museum! Another option is to relax and rejuvenate at the hotel Spa, gardens, or pool. We will gather at the hotel later for a pre-flight briefing and dinner. | Meals Included:

Day 8: Saturday | Puebla, Mexico |
We will have an early start to transfer to La Aurora International Airport for international departure procedures. We will make the short flight to make our mandatory entry into Mexico at the Tapachula Intl. Airport (MMTP) to complete the arrival formalities and to pick up our boxed lunches. Once we are done, we will continue our journey to Puebla (MMPB) and transfer by private van to the Hotel Quinta Real, located in the Historic Center of the City. Finally, we will gather for a pleasant dinner at the hotel. | Meals Included:

Day 9: Sunday | Puebla, Mexico |
The City of Puebla in Mexico is a truly remarkable place, surrounded by stunning mountains and volcanoes. To explore its rich history and culture, we'll start the day with a touristic trolley car ride through the Historic Center, visiting all the amazing landmarks. After lunch, you can discover the city at your own pace. Museums offer insights into both pre-Hispanic heritage and contemporary art, while street markets showcase beautiful artisanal products created by talented artists. Visit the Capilla del Rosario, considered one of the greatest artistic-religious achievements in Mexico or any one of the other amazing attractions. Enjoy the local atmosphere! | Meals Included:

Day at leisure! Spend the day exploring Cholula, a captivating "Magic Town" that is home to the world's largest pyramid in terms of volume. Alternatively, wander through the streets of the Historic Center and marvel at the well-preserved colonial architecture, both civil and religious. Don't miss the chance to visit the beautiful churches adorned with baroque art. Later, we'll gather for dinner and a pre-flight briefing. | Meals Included:

After breakfast, we will head to the Puebla airport to begin our return to the US. From there, we will fly to Tampico (MMTM) to go through customs and immigration formalities to leave Mexico. Finally, we will fly back to Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport (KBRO). | Meals Included:
